Alcohol Addiction is one of the most underrated threats to healthy living in our society. Even in people who seem highly functional, chronic use of alcohol can cause permanent organ and brain damage. It also ruins lives. The individual who has a drinking problem is affected, along with their friends, family and colleagues.

Addiction is serious. It should be understood that it is not a product of weakness. Addiction is a disease. The good news is that there is hope and it can be treated and managed.

Entering into a Detox and Alcohol Treatment Centre

Alcohol Detox Withdrawal Timeline

The ultimate weapon against addiction is a desire to stop using. If there is hope, recovery is possible. It must be understood that addiction requires special attention and care. It can not be handled at home. Using a professional detox facility and entering into an alcohol treatment centre is essential for recovery.

We are an Alcohol and Drug Treatment Centre for Women

At West Coast Wellness Centre for Women, we warmly welcome each woman who walks through our doors. We understand addiction. We have developed a unique program designed to help each woman in recovery break free from addiction.

Our Clients Enter into Detox as Part of Beginning a Successful Alcohol Addiction Treatment Program

Alcohol Addiction Treatment Program Success

Our alcohol addiction treatment program includes detox at the beginning so that everyone at our centre can focus on recovery. Detox can be very overwhelming and it is physically and emotionally challenging. This takes place in a separate area from our main facility. It is equipped with medical supports and doctors. We work closely with medical personnel so that each woman is prepared to enter our main facility. Once a woman completes detox and enters our main facility, she can then begin to work our program.

What is Included in Our Addiction Treatment Program?

There are many components to our addiction treatment program. There is one on one time with each woman and group time, where we discuss:

  • the recovery process
  • what lead them to their addiction
  • personal wellness
  • self-esteem
  • anger management
  • stress management
  • spirituality

Relapse Prevention and Building a Support Network

Relapse Prevention – Build a Strong Support Network

With our incredible staff and well designed program (including group activities) we can help unbind the ties of addiction. Once a woman successfully completes our program, she is then guided into our relapse prevention program. Since addiction is a disease that requires treatment, it is important to remain in recovery for life in most cases.

Recovery is Just as Important as Detox and Entering into a Residential Treatment Centre

Recovery is just as important as detox and going to a residential treatment centre. Some people think that detox is enough. Some people think that completing an alcohol treatment program is enough. Addiction is complex and it rarely goes away so it is important to keep working at recovery.

Relapse is Serious and is Always a Concern for a Recovering Alcoholic or Addict

Since we are aware of the severe consequences of relapse, each woman that completes our program is introduced into the recovery community. This will allow her to build a strong support network. With hard work and commitment to sober living, is it possible to stay on the path of recovery for good.

If you or someone you know relapses back into addiction, it is important to contact us right away. Relapses are dangerous and can be lethal.
